Our first video project

.

The group that i was in was a small group that consisted of myself, Jamie and Ed. I thought the video was OK but not great for our first one, being it was our first video it was continuity for amateurs but we had too much camera movement when we were only allowed to use one in the whole video but we used about 8-10 camera movement shots. First of all in our short film our best scene is the security camera, its our miss-en-scene were it tell you about the characters the more you look at the scene.
The lighting we used in the film was mostly artificial lighting as it was filmed inside but the end scene was filmed outside so we used ambient lighting for the scenes outside.

To introduce the movie we had a title fade in and grow than fade away as some music started. This shows that we know and showed how to use fade in our video, at the end of the movie we faded out and made it so credits appeared and they scrolled from the bottom to the top which let us show you that we know how to use the software.

In our video we used three high camera angle shots, One of them is to use a P.O.V shot as the main character is checking who he must find as for the other shots they were high angle shots as we wanted them to be like a security camera instead of making one character looking more powerful than the other.

Not once during the video did we break the 180° rule as we kept to one side during the over the shoulder shot while the deal scene was going on.

  1. Sam,

This is a good first piece of written work - you have pointed out some successful shots and said why they worked. However, you have not really focused on CONTINUITY and how well you have managed to make your sequence 'flow'. Try to discuss how you have created and maintained continuity in this video.

    A very good start though.
